The strength of New Mexico’s communities and economies depends on its transportation and infrastructure. That’s why I was so proud to secure once-in-a-generation federal investments through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. These resources will rebuild our roads and bridges, expand access to clean drinking water, rebuild wastewater and sewer systems, and ensure more New Mexicans have access to high-speed internet.
These will be the largest infrastructure investments our state has seen since the construction of the federal highway system in the 1950s. I’m committed to making sure we maximize these funds to modernize and expand our local airports, finally complete priority projects to repair our roads and sidewalks, build new bridges and freeway exits, electrify our public transit systems and our local government vehicle fleets, and install a solid electric vehicle charging network.
