Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories are indispensable to our national security. They strengthen our state’s economy, and provide thousands of good-paying, high-skilled careers.
During my time in Congress, I have been proud to double the total budget for Sandia and Los Alamos, significantly increasing the total employees and local economic impact of both labs. And I will continue fighting to protect the labs’ national security missions and create a sustainable future for their research and development in areas like clean energy, homeland security, nonproliferation, advanced materials, high-performance computing, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, I am committed to continuing to prioritize the completion of the Department of Energy’s environmental cleanup of toxic and radioactive legacy waste.
