With New Mexico’s abundant wind and solar resources, world-leading energy researchers, and a proven skilled trades workforce, New Mexico can and will be at the center of America's rapidly growing energy economy.

Our landmark investments in the Inflation Reduction Act are the single greatest step we have ever taken to build the clean energy future our children deserve. To deliver all of the clean energy we will produce in New Mexico to market, we need to build more long-distance, high-voltage transmission lines. Securing our energy future also depends on electrifying large swaths of the economy. I am proud to have passed provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act that begin the work, and I am committed to continuing to lead the way as the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Electrification Caucus. As Founder and Chair of the Senate Fusion Caucus and a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, I’m also working to increase our investments in fusion and geothermal energy, and the limitless clean energy opportunities they can deliver.
