Welcome

Outdoor traditions on our public lands are at the core of New Mexicans' way of life. Our livelihoods are rooted in our landscapes and outdoor recreation helps fuel our economy, creating much needed jobs--particularly in rural communities. Outdoor recreation in New Mexico generate billions of dollars each year in consumer spending and are responsible for tens of thousands of jobs.

We still have so much room to grow the outdoor industry in New Mexico. That's why I am holding a series of events around the state, Outdoor Recreation Workshops: Helping New Mexico's Outdoor Industry Thrive, because I want to support the businesses, organizations, and localities that power our outdoor recreation economy. These workshops will feature strategies, tools, and federal and state funding opportunities to grow this industry in New Mexico in a way that benefits everyone.
