Heinrich Welcomes Nomination Of Janet Yellen To Be Federal Reserve Chair

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) released a statement on the President's nomination of Janet L. Yellen to be the next Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

“I am pleased with President Obama's selection of Dr. Yellen to serve as Federal Reserve Chairman and I fully support her nomination. Dr. Yellen has more experience at the Federal Reserve than any previous chairman, an unmatched record for predicting the direction of the economy, and ranks among the nation’s most esteemed economists. But beyond her impressive credentials, I appreciate her commitment to using the Fed’s tool kit to keep the economy growing and putting more Americans back to work.”
