Heinrich Statement On The Fourth Of July

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) released the following statement to mark the celebration of the Fourth of July:

"Today, we gather with family and friends to celebrate the birth of our nation and the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Indeed, July 4th is the day that marks not only our nation's fight for freedom, but also celebrates the freedom of Americans to live in a land of opportunity where we can work to make our dreams come true and where each of us is guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Let us honor our modern day heroes who guarantee these rights--our brave women and men in uniform serving in our armed forces at home and around the world. As we celebrate, I ask New Mexicans to join me in keeping those heroes and their families in our thoughts and prayers."
