Heinrich Statement On The Confirmation Of Chuck Hagel As Secretary Of Defense

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) released the following statement on his vote to confirm Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense:

“I am pleased with Senator Hagel’s confirmation. I look forward to working with him to provide our service members with the resources they need to carry out their missions, strengthen New Mexico’s military installations, and modernize our nuclear weapons infrastructure. Senator Hagel has served with honor and distinction. I am confident that as Secretary of Defense he will be an effective leader for our troops, veterans, military families, and our country.”
