WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) released a video statement on his Facebook page to DREAMers following President Trump's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:
Video transcript: “I'm Senator Martin Heinrich and I have a message for DREAMers. President Trump is simply wrong. I know how hard you work, I know how much you believe in this country, I know what you’re willing to give back to this country and I’m grateful that you’re here and I’m grateful to have met many of you in my home state of New Mexico. It’s disheartening knowing that you’ll have to endure the uncertain times ahead. But I want every DREAMer to know that I stand with you. You have me and so many others in your corner - and we're going to fight this to the end. After today’s announcement by our president, it may feel like your world is crashing in around you. Continue to be strong. Keep telling your story. Keep marching. Do not give up. Because we will never give up on you. This is not over.”
