Heinrich To Call For Action On the Central American Refugee Crisis, Immigration Reform

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will deliver a speech on the Senate Floor continuing his call for action on the Central American refugee crisis and bipartisan Senate immigration reform bill, today at approximately 4 p.m. ET/ 2 p.m. MT.

Senator Heinrich is a proponent of the Senate's Emergency Supplemental Funding Bill, a proposal introduced by Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD) that includes $2.73 billion to help stem the current Central American refugee crisis, and has been a staunch advocate for accountable immigration reform.

During the speech, Senator Heinrich will highlight the importance of passing supplemental funding to address the refugee crisis and the economic benefits of passing the Senate bipartisan immigration reform bill.

The speech will air live on CSPAN-2 and stream online.
