Joint Economic Committee Vice Chair Heinrich Announces Hearing On Vaccinations And The Economic Recovery

Senator Heinrich helped secure $20 billion in the American Rescue Plan to supercharge nationwide vaccine distributions, encourages New Mexicans to get vaccinated

WASHINGTON – Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 14 at 12:30 p.m. MT/ 2:30 p.m. ET, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), Vice Chair of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), will participate in a hearing titled "Vaccinations and the Economic Recovery," which will explore the role vaccinations and other public health interventions such as social distancing and masking play in the economic recovery.

The witness panel includes Dr. Paul Romer, Nobel Prize-Winning economist and NYU Professor; Dr. Belinda Archibong, Assistant Professor of Economics at Barnard College, Columbia University; Dr. Céline Gounder, MD, ScM, FIDSA, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the NYU School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital and CEO of Just Human Productions; and Dr. Alexander Tabarrok, Bartley J. Madden Chair in Economics at the Mercatus Center and Professor of Economics at George Mason University.
