***ADVISORY FOR MONDAY, MARCH 10 - TUESDAY, MARCH 11***
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Immediately following votes tonight Monday, March 10 until approximately 9 a.m. ET Tuesday, March 11, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will join Senators from the Senate Climate Action Task Force on the Senate floor to urge action on climate change. A significant number of Senators are expected to participate throughout the night.
"Tonight we will illustrate that climate change is not theoretical and cannot be ignored. We will discuss how sound science can be used to better understand and manage climate impacts. And we’ll highlight the moral imperative we have in Congress to implement solutions," said Senator Heinrich. "If we have any hope of reversing the effects of climate change -- and we truly must -- it’s critical that we embrace this challenge now and lead the world in innovation, efficiency, and clean energy."
Senator Heinrich, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, will speak on the Senate floor at approximately 1:15 a.m. ET on Tuesday, March 11.
