Heinrich To Make Major Announcement For Solar Energy In Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - On Saturday, April 15, at 1:15 p.m. at the Albuquerque Fire Academy, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) along with Albuquerque City Councilors Pat Davis and Isaac Benton will announce a major development for the City of Albuquerque’s solar energy initiatives.

Senator Heinrich will also announce new legislation he introduced that will better position New Mexico’s workforce for good-paying clean energy jobs. Senator Heinrich has been a strong advocate for growing the renewable energy economy in New Mexico. According to The Solar Foundation, Albuquerque had one of the highest increases in solar jobs in the country. Solar jobs in the Albuquerque increased by 78 percent, from 997 jobs in 2015 to 1,771 jobs last year.
