TAOS, N.M. – U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will host a roundtable discussion with leadership members of the University of New Mexico Taos (UNM), and local and regional energy leaders from various solar companies working in Taos.
UNM Taos will be presenting an overview of its Declaration of Energy Independence, discussing its federal programs, and presenting Senator Heinrich with a tour of the Solar Array. The 3.5 acre 2,700 panel solar array went online in 2009 and produces over 500 kilowatts of power. The campus is fully powered by one of the largest solar arrays in New Mexico and provides numerous opportunities for study and research.
