WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will deliver a speech on the Senate floor today at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET/ 2:30 p.m. MT on the current humanitarian crisis along the southern border. Senator Heinrich recently joined U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on a tour of the temporary facility for undocumented parents and their children at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) campus in Artesia, New Mexico.
Senator Heinrich is a proponent of President Obama's emergency supplemental funding that would help address the current humanitarian crisis, and has long been a strong advocate for comprehensive immigration reform.
The speech will air live on CSPAN-2 and stream online.
