Heinrich Statement On Trump-Putin Meeting

WASHINGTON, D.C. -  U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) released the following statement today on President Trump’s meeting and press conference with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki:

“In a shocking display of submissiveness, President Trump stood next to Vladimir Putin and made it clear that his allegiance is not with the American people, and even called the United States foolish. President Trump literally sided with a former KGB agent and against our own intelligence services. A sitting American president just publicly yielded to a foreign enemy who attacked our democracy. To my Republican colleagues, now is the time to choose country over party or forever be remembered as complicit.”
