WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, released the following statement today on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) plan to improve smog-causing emissions standards:
"These updated standards to limit air pollution are an encouraging step toward improving our air quality. Ozone pollution impacts our children's health and often is the root cause of asthma, shortness of breath, and other respiratory illnesses. I will continue fighting to ensure we create an environment that safeguards the health of New Mexico families."
