WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) released the following statement on the FBI’s supplemental investigation of sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh:
“Despite the fact that the White House tried to limit the scope of the FBI’s work—so drastically that I wouldn’t even characterize it as an investigation—the report still manages to raise very serious questions about the truthfulness of the nominee.
“Dozens of people sought to bring evidence forward and felt they were not heard. Key witnesses—including Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Blasey Ford—were not even interviewed.
“Judge Kavanaugh should not be confirmed. The integrity of the highest court in the land is at stake.”
