WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), the first AmeriCorps alum to serve in the United States Senate, issued the following statement on the confirmation of Alvin Harlyn Warren, of Santa Clara Pueblo, to serve as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency more commonly known as AmeriCorps:
“Whether serving as a cabinet secretary for the state of New Mexico or as Lt. Governor for the Pueblo of Santa Clara, Alvin Warren has been steadfast in his public service. I was fortunate to meet Alvin very early in my career and I’m grateful for his collaboration throughout the years. He will, no doubt, continue to have a positive impact in this new post."
