WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement today after the CIA released redacted versions of a CIA inspector general report and a CIA Accountability Review Board report related to the CIA improperly searching computers used by Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff.
"The findings of the review board confirm that the CIA improperly accessed the emails of Senate Intelligence Committee staff who prepared the report on the agency's detention and interrogation program. It’s extremely disappointing that despite this very clear violation and disregard of the separation of powers, no one will be held accountable at the CIA for what happened.”
