LAS CRUCES, N.M. - In an ongoing effort to provide top-notch constituent service, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich's (D-N.M.) staff will hold Mobile Office Hours at a Veterans' E-Benefits Workshop in Las Cruces from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, September 19, at the National Guard Armory, 259 N. Armory Road. Staff will be on hand to assist residents who have questions regarding veterans benefits, including the e-benefit online claim process, and other federal programs.
According to the Veteran’s Administration (VA) it takes 149 days on average for veterans to receive a final disability rating if they file a Fully Developed Claim online, compared to 253 days if they file a non-Fully Developed Claim on paper.
Earlier this year, Senator Heinrich joined his colleagues on the VA Backlog Working Group to unveil the 21st Century Veterans Benefits Reform Act, a comprehensive bill designed to reduce the backlog of veterans' disability claims.
Constituents who are not able to attend Mobile Office Hours are encouraged to visit the Veterans Resources section of Senator Heinrich's online office at www.Heinrich.Senate.Gov.
