Heinrich Named Chair Of Senate Appropriations Subcommittee On Agriculture, Rural Development, Food And Drug Administration, And Related Agencies

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will serve as the new Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies for the 118th Congress.

Senator Heinrich released the following statement: 

“Rural America deserves our attention and investment. Our kids deserve to have the food they need to succeed in school and life. Our farmers deserve the tools to be resilient in a changing climate. And our families deserve to know that the medicines they take and the food they eat are safe. I’m looking forward to delivering in every one of these areas as Chair of the Senate’s Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee. By focusing on solutions for the real challenges facing Americans, we can get the appropriations work done and push partisan politics aside.”
