Mayors and local officials from across New Mexico will join to announce commitments on carbon emission reduction plans
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – At 3:30 p.m. MT on Tuesday, August 6, at the Albuquerque Convention Center, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and City of Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, will hold a press conference with mayors and local officials from across New Mexico for the closing of the 2019 Energy Summit: Building New Mexico’s Clean Energy Future.
This year’s Energy Summit brings local, state, and federal officials together with non-profit organizations to discuss policy recommendations, and receive technical assistance, and resources to implement real solutions to reduce carbon emissions. Four areas that local governments and governmental entities will be advised on are:
The 2019 Energy Summit is hosted by Senator Heinrich, the City of Albuquerque, State of New Mexico, Bernalillo County, Rocky Mountain Institute, U.S. Department of Energy, and National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
