Bipartisan bill will ensure all transmission transactions are provided parity in the review process by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) announced that their bipartisan bill, the Parity Across Reviews Act, to ensure all transmission transactions are provided parity in the review process by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), was signed into law on Friday.
"I'm proud we were able to get this legislation over the finish line to streamline the regulatory process and reduce barriers to small investments in utility infrastructure to move us closer to a more resilient, reliable, and secure electric grid," said Heinrich.
"For too long the law has been confusing when it comes to FERC's mergers and acquisitions authority, specifically for public utilities," said Inhofe. "I'm pleased that both chambers of Congress and the President unanimously agreed that we should hold all energy transactions to the same standard, which will increase efficiency and save consumers money."
