Heinrich Highlights Free Tax Assistance For N.M. Families

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) visited Tax Help New Mexico at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) to highlight free tax assistance for New Mexico residents. During the event, Senator Heinrich talked with Tax Help New Mexico volunteers and residents.

"Tax Help New Mexico is providing a key service throughout the state to residents who need it most," said Sen. Heinrich. "This important service ensures that New Mexico families receive the tax credits they qualify for and have access to in-person tax preparation assistance."

Senator Heinrich's office collaborated with Tax Help New Mexico during tax season to assist residents at locations across the state. Tax Help New Mexico, which is operated by CNM and the United Way of Central New Mexico, is a free service for residents whose household income is $53,000 or less of those who are 65 years or older. Tax Help volunteers are certified by the IRS and are trained to help taxpayers identify tax credits for which they are entitled to.
