WASHINGTON, D.C. - In an effort to help New Mexicans prepare for wildfire season, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) today launched the "Wildfire Preparedness & Prevention Resource Center" on his website, to provide critical information about how to protect communities from the devastating effects of wildfires. The new online resource center includes prevention tips, best practices to protect homes and businesses, active wildfire information, and more.
Senator Heinrich also released a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) to help spread the word about how to stay safe throughout the fire season.
"Wildfire season is here, and now is the time to get ready. Learning about wildfire danger and being prepared can help reduce the threat of fires to our natural surroundings, our homes, and our communities," said Sen. Heinrich. "These helpful tips and resources aim to provide New Mexicans with the best information available to prepare for fire season."
