WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources will consider several bills of importance to New Mexico sponsored by U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Tom Udall (D-N.M.) during a markup on Thursday, May 16, 2013. The markup begins at 10 a.m. ET/8 a.m. MT and will be streamed live online.
Among the measures being considered are bills to establish wilderness areas in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument (S. 241); to reauthorize the Federal Land Transaction Facilitation Act (S. 368); and to extend the Carson National Forest boundary to include Miranda Canyon near Taos, New Mexico(S. 312). As a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Senator Heinrich will also discuss establishing the Manhattan Project National Historical Park in Los Alamos (S.507).
