WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will help kick-off the inaugural summit of the New Mexico Collaborative Research & Development Council in Albuquerque on Friday, November 8, 2013. The summit will work to strengthen and increase collaboration between New Mexico's research universities, national labs, and military installations.
Senator Heinrich will join Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.), University of New Mexico President Robert G. Frank, New Mexico State University President Garrey Carruthers, and New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology President Daniel H. Lopez, along with Sandia National Laboratories Director Paul Hommert and Los Alamos National Laboratory Director Charles McMillan. Other council members invited to the event include representatives from the Air Force Bases, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and White Sands Missile Range.
Later in the day, Senator Heinrich will deliver a keynote address at the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce's Congressional Delegation Luncheon Series.
