As the father of two teenage sons, I know just how attuned our kids and young Americans are to how their future is going to be impacted by the climate crisis. In New Mexico, we are witnessing more destructive wildfire behavior in our forests, dangerously low water levels in our rivers and reservoirs, and the disappearance of snowpack on our mountains. This is the issue of our time. All eyes are rightly on the Biden administration and on Congress to deliver on climate.

I recently participated in a live interview with CNN Chief Climate Correspondent Bill Weir for a CITIZEN by CNN conversation about the climate crisis. We discussed the costs of our reliance on fossil fuels, and the urgent need to pass major investments to accelerate our transition toward the widespread electrification of our homes and vehicles and more rapid deployment of clean and carbon pollution-free energy.
I am dedicated to growing New Mexico's clean energy economy, lowering costs for families, and taking action to combat the climate crisis. This is our opportunity to make a real difference in the type of planet that we will pass on to our children and all future generations. We need to deliver.
