The COVID-19 pandemic has placed so many challenges and uncertainties upon New Mexico families, and has reinforced how critical it is to be able to access affordable, lifesaving health care.

I want you to know that there are options available for you to stay covered-or get covered-if you are uninsured. You can use the online NM Coverage Connector to see if you are eligible for free or low-cost insurance options. You only have 60 days to sign up for new health coverage in New Mexico's Health Insurance Exchange after you lose your job-based health insurance. As we continue to confront this pandemic, I am doing everything I can to ensure that health providers and first responders in every community in New Mexico have the resources and support they need for a strong public health response. I am also standing up against the Trump administration's reckless attempts to dismantle key protections for millions of American families-including those with pre-existing conditions-under the Affordable Care Act.

In the midst of a pandemic, the President needs to stop waging partisan battles over health care and instead focus on reopening and extending ACA enrollment so that all people who need to purchase a new health care plan can do so.
