Please Register for the Outdoor Recreation Workshop in Taos

Dear Friend,

I am writing to invite you to a workshop I am hosting with the University of New Mexico - Taos on Thursday, March 19 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This workshop is aimed at providing small businesses, entrepreneurs, and start-ups with federal and local resources, technical assistance, and information on financial support. We still have so much room to grow the outdoor industry in New Mexico and it is my hope that participants will come away from this workshop with new ideas and sources of support for the good work you do.

Please register here for the first installment in Outdoor Recreation Workshops: Helping New Mexico's Outdoor Industry Thrive. Registration will be closed on Monday, March 16 or when registration is full.

Confirmed agencies in attendance include the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, U.S. Economic Development Administration, the Small Business Development Center, New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division, New Mexico Tourism Division, and the Las Cruces Green Chamber. Representatives from these organizations will be on hand to provide information on their resources and answer your questions.

Outdoor traditions on our public lands are at the core of New Mexicans' way of life. Our livelihoods are rooted in our landscapes and outdoor recreation helps fuel our economy, creating much needed jobs--particularly in rural communities. Outdoor recreation in New Mexico generates billions of dollars each year in consumer spending and are responsible for tens of thousands of jobs. These workshops will feature strategies, tools, and federal and state funding opportunities to grow this industry in New Mexico in a way that benefits everyone.
