Every Child, Every School

I’m always inspired by the potential that I see in every student I meet in New Mexico.

Throughout August, I met with students and teachers across our state to talk about how we can work together to improve our education system from early childhood all the way through higher education and beyond.

Improving education is the key to unlocking our economic potential in our state and more must be done to support New Mexico’s students and teachers. That’s why I introduced the Two-Generation Economic Empowerment Act that supports children and parents together. It’s also why I support tapping into our state’s Permanent Fund to expand quality early childhood education, and why I’ll continue standing up to Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and President Trump’s proposed education cuts that would wreak havoc on our state.

In New Mexico, we face unique challenges, but we all agree that in order to succeed we have to put our children first and improve our education system. I am committed to ensuring that every student in every school has access to a quality education.
