Heinrich To Tout New Electrification Rebate Program At Plumbers And Pipefitters Local Union In Albuquerque, Visit Audubon Center In Santa Fe To Highlight Recovering America’s Wildlife Act

WASHINGTON – On Friday, September 9, at 9:30 a.m. MT, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will celebrate the Inflation Reduction Act becoming law with labor leaders at the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 412 in Albuquerque.

This event will showcase how cost-saving home electrification benefits championed by Senator Heinrich will support and grow good-paying union jobs in New Mexico.

Later that day at 11:30 a.m. MT in Santa Fe, Senator Heinrich will visit the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary to highlight his Recovering America’s Wildlife Act and discuss local conservation efforts around the Pinyon Jay, an iconic bird of the intermountain West and was once common throughout the Pinyon-Juniper woodlands of northern New Mexico. Long term drought, climate change, and habitat conversions have resulted in significant Pinyon Jay population declines. The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act is landmark, bipartisan legislation that would deliver game changing investments that will bolster wildlife and habitat conservation efforts in New Mexico.

Senator Heinrich will be joined by Audubon Executive Director Jonathan Hayes, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff, and state and Tribal leaders.
